A leading enterprise in the Australian market approached Maximus to conduct an organisational review across the entire business.
Maximus was to provide a recommendation on organisational structure that would obtain synergies and operational efficiencies across the business, and provide a platform for future growth.
To evaluate current organisational effectiveness, Maximus designed a multi-tiered review framework, addressing Strategy, Compliance, Structure, Systems and Processes, Customer Orientation, Capabilities, Culture, Communication, Leadership, People, and Development.
This was condensed into an intense four month body of work in which data was gathered from the following five sources:
1) Board and Executive interviews
2) External interviews with auditors
3) An employee survey
4) A systems and process review
5) A benchmarking analysis against immediate competitors
The outcomes of the review were delivered to all stakeholder groups. A key outcome of the review was the immediate identification of $7 million dollars of potential improvements and cost savings. Following this, Maximus mapped out three phases of structural improvements (immediate, short-term, medium-term) to shift the way the organisation operated, and to create a platform to meet future growth objectives.
